This song, also known as Bukatiende, means "wake up and let's go" and is one of the "big" songs at the core of traditional mbira dzavadzimu repertoire. Students will learn a running kushaura part and, time permitting, a kutsinhira part as well. The workshop will be taught in Standard (Cosmas) tuning.
Please bring a Standard (Cosmas) tuning mbira.
Please donate the recommended amount for this workshop. This amount would come from the length of the workshop. For example, a 2-hour workshop would have a recommended amount of $28. This workshop is not a free workshop but "by donation" and the teacher is being paid by Zimfest. For more information, please see About Workshops, Workshops by Donation section.
