Jennifer Kyker Bangoura

Jennifer Kyker Bangoura has been studying Shona music since 1990, with teachers including Musekiwa Chingodza, Mondrek Muchena, Tute Chigamba, and Cosmas Magaya. She has lived in Zimbabwe for almost six years, and has taught at the Zimbabwe College of Music as a Fulbright Fellow. Jennifer finished her PhD in ethnomusicology at the University of Pennsylvania in April, 2010. She is also the founder and director of Tariro, a non-profit working to educate and empower Zimbabwean girls in communities affected by HIV/AIDS.
